We are girls and it means we naturally love jewellery..

We first met when we were 15. That's when our common story begun. We travelled random places all around the world. We enjoyed snowboarding in Ukraine, hitchhiking around North of Scotland, exploring New Zealand from its most Northern to Southern point.

We used to share an awesome apartment while studying at university back home in Czech Republic. Two of us and 8 more friends. All couches were always full of surfers. We probably visited all the summer festivals in Czech, and most of the time we were the last ones leaving to go home.

10 years ago we became founders of GET ART! A non profit organisation, which supported young artists. We organized uncountable amounts of art exhibitions and just had great times. 

In 2015 we decided to fly over the ocean and explore Canada. We drove all around beautiful BC, maybe 5 times, in our mama-van with a yellow canoe on the roof. We always enjoyed returning to Revelstoke for winter adventures and now we call it our beloved (second) home.

Who is behind the brand Sick Chick?
It's the two of us. Zuzana & Marie. Original Czech chicks, who decided to discover the whole world and one day fell in love with the beautiful nature of British Columbia. Click here to hear the short story long.

How does it feel to run a small business?
It’s great! :-D The whole idea of running your own business gives you freedom. You are your own boss. You can take a day off every powder day. You can move your office to Lake Revelstoke any sunny day. 
It is the two of us in our business. It means we can share all the great moments as well as the less entertaining ones. But you know - Secret Santa is more fun in a bigger collective, what is the reason we keep our other jobs too.

How were you affected by the crazy world situation in last couple of years?
Of course, we were affected by the situation with coronavirus, along with other small business owners all around the world. But this circus also brought good things into our days. It required people to start thinking out of the box. We were maintaining relationships with other artists, business owners, community members and we tried our best to find new ways of supporting each other.

Are you planning on running your own jewelry store?

Sure! Here is a link. Just let us know first. We want to make sure we are on the same boat.

Can you create a custom pair of earrings / necklace / pendant / brooch / hair pin / present for my friend / label for my product / wedding decorations / set of wooden coasters?
We sure love custom orders. Have a look here, where you can see some of our previous custom projects.

How should I take care of my new wooden jewelry?
The main and golden rule is avoid any contact with water. Wood is natural material. It means when you take your new pair of stud earrings for a swim, the wood (even varnished with super powerful varnish) will eventually soak some water, change its shape and this cause that the awesome strong glue we use is not that powerful anymore. 
We keep testing our jewelry in hard conditions for you and we are constantly working on improvements. We take it splitboarding, we go cross country skiing with it, camping, hiking, dancing in the club as well as in the rain. But if you want it to last longer - simply keep your wooden jewelry far from water:)
